Parish Outreach
Parish Social Ministry is a partnership between Catholic Charities and St. Boniface faith community.
The ministry is rooted in the gifts of the people of God, enabling those within our parish to serve and support those in need.
Our office provides:
Direct Service through our pantry which provides food and other basic needs of living to help those within our parish boundaries to stretch their income.
Offering direction to those who might be entitled to benefits such as SNAP (food stamps), HEAP (assistance with energy costs), Social Security, Child Care, etc.. We work closely with the Nassau County Department of Social Services to learn about these programs and who is entitled to receive the benefits.
Advocacy in speaking out for the vulnerable in an effort to move beyond charity to justice.
Collaboration with parish and neighborhood organizations to maximize available assistance to those in need.
Education and information-sharing in the office and through our parish bulletin.
